Thought on Suits 2x03

Can I just say...

Harriet Specter and Michelle Ross?

GENDERBENT FIC

THEY DID GENDERBENT FIC OMG

(and even FEMALE LOUIS OH NOES)

God I love it when Harvey goes to confront guys in men's bathroom about stealing HIS Mike

HAHAHA very disturbed by Harvey and Louis's bonding moment, and Louis's recording on repeat with Gabriel Macht's sexy gravelly voice, very, very disturbed

Also very conflicted about Rachel. I adore her to bits when she's with Donna, and find her mostly annoying when she's with Mike (and no, it's not because of the slash, fangirlism aside, she reminds me of very annoying girls I used to know and it gives me itches in the inside of my hand). I guess I just really, really want Donna/Rachel to happen, and that the Mike/Rachel thing is finally over (and the end of the episode gave me good hope. Rachel, I think you're one of those girls who are actually awesome but become annoying and less interesting when they're around guys, and I want to like you, so yeah, forget about boys, go after your dream, I will support you!).

OMG ERIC CLOSE IS BACK NEXT WEEK!! I LOVE ERIC CLOSE!!!

Genderbent fic! Donna/Rachel! This episode was a delight. Except I wish, I wish TPTB would stop milking the Rachel/Mike. Have them date (I support them dating!) or don't (I support them as research bros!), but all this ~drama is just really...formulaic and frustrating.

I actually loved the Louis scenes in this one. I NEEDED them. All last season I felt like Louis was just this stock, despicable buffoon character. It was difficult to see why Jessica would keep him on and why Harvey would consider him a worthy adversary (and the show consider him a worthy foil for Harvey Specter) if all he ever did was twirl his moustache and try to steal other people's credit/clients/subs associates.

Especially since...is Louis supposed to be coded as closeted? I know there were some jokes about ex/fake wives in s1, but can't remember whether they were framed in a "Louis is a womanizer no woman will have" or a "Louis has no interest in ~women~" kind of way, and it was making me very unhappy that if so, they were using it as just one more way of making him a stock villain, rather than an actual layered character.

Argh! Feelings! Anyway, YMMV, and wow, s2 has started off with a bang. \o/

Ngl, if they went the Rachel/Donna route, that'd be enough to make me watch this show again. I've only seen gifs of the scene you're mentioning, but it sounds more awesome than all of S1 rolled together.

Everything you said about Louis is true and brilliant and I kick myself for forgetting to say it in my post, but yes, I agree. Really, really love what they did with Louis there, it's just absolutely awesome that he's more than a token villain. Season 1 was super entertaining, but holy shit season 2 is showing some mofoing quality, here! I'm enjoying the heck out of it so far!

Season 1 was brilliant entertainment, but man, season 2 is bringing on the FIREWORKS! I LOVE IT!
