I really, really hate that Hollywood can't seem to do science right sometimes. I was working for the CDC when Outbreak came out. We just all sat there gawping at the screen and went "WTF"?
I've worked for the film industry, and not once did anyone high-up in the process think to ask an authority on their subject what was right, just what would make good entertainment.
I hate having my intelligence insulted. I appreciate the need for suspension of disbelief to create a film world, but with fantasy and sci-fi, GET THE SCIENCE RIGHT, at least, cause, you know, a lot of the audience is gonna know more than your characters.
Avengers managed this admirably, as have many other films, hell even the shitty Star Trek movies (and of course the good ones, too) had it down pat. It can be done, Hollywood.
