Gratuitous pimp post

sevenswellsTo respect the english-speaking persons I'm talking about in this post, I wrote it in English - I promise it's not a vanity on my part ^^
I'm currently translating my GacktxMiyavi fic from French to English, it's kinda difficult (since I wrote it and all, the style is definitely an issue) but I think I'm starting to get the hang of it. *crosses fingers*
Anyway, before all hell breaks loose, I was thinking I could write a post to talk about some extraordinary artists on LJ who have inspired me a great deal, and are related some way or another to my OTP, GacktxMiyavi, of which there is just not enough around, people.
Do something about it.
I'm currently translating my GacktxMiyavi fic from French to English, it's kinda difficult (since I wrote it and all, the style is definitely an issue) but I think I'm starting to get the hang of it. *crosses fingers*

There is no particular order in this, mind you, I'm just writing as it comes
°°° Ficwise, Solo was an epiphany. I knew I wanted to write about Gackt and Miyavi, but I didn't really know why or how or what to expect of this fandom, of fandom and LJ in general, so I googled the pairing and the first result was this fic. It's also the first fic I've ever read, and, truly, I was extremely surprised: I wasn't expecting it to be this good. It gave me the courage and the inspiration to quench these fantasies rolling endlessly in my head. I fell instantly in love with Miyabi and his "Ambitious!" T-shirt; but what I found most interesting in this fic was his pupa state, the "becoming Miyavi" part -- it became an obsession for me, and this fic of mine that I'm currently trying to translate in English, Hoshi no Suna, is mainly about that.
So in short, it's allsupacat 's fault.
°°° Fanvidwise, I've never seen fanvids of Miyavi as beautiful asthin_lipid 's, and believe me, I've seen many Miyavi fanvids - but all of them only showed one side of Miyavi, the party freak, kind of "Duracell rabbit", if you see what I mean. They're fun and I love them, nonetheless, thinlipid 's videos succeed in creating a very particular atmosphere around him, something deep, disturbing, and utterly melancholy - which is exactly how I tend to see him myself. My favourite vid of them all is Worms because of the climax and Miyavi's hand with the sun that shines through it in the end, it's a beautiful picture that burned my retina, his hand looks so very fragile it made my heart ache while I was watching it.
°°° Heh. Well it's embarrassing because I'm totally stalking her and practically forced her to write it for me, but imagine the joy, supacat wrote me a fic, during a period where I was obsessed with men in sailor suits (don't ask). Hello Sailor is an incredibly good fic that made me feel like it was my birthday when I was reading it, and I'd never thank supacat enough for it.
°°° Fly with me is the first Miyavi vid I saw ofthin_lipid; it had a crazy impact on me (I used words like "skinned alive" and "cannibalistic urges" to comment on it, talk about creepy). I love the vid and I love the song which is on my I Pod, and I regularly listen to it again and again. I think both unnerving and sexy and desperate; the obsessive, repetitive patterns in the video are totally justified and simply genious; it brings me back to my own obsession towards Miyavi.
°°° Cheap Wine (the fic I translated, "Le rouge qui tache") is an extremely important fic because it marks supacat 's surrender to Gackt's "S"ness: I was stupidly going "w00t!" at every replica, which were all perfectly fitting.
'cat, you rule so much, it's getting ridiculous.

°°° Finally, praiseannnimeee for her Gackt pimping post (yeah, my pimping post talks about pimping posts too, how lame is that) which states every reason why we should love all the more the greatest semes of all times, namely, GAKUTO-TAMAAAAAAAA!!!! (squee) (w00t)
