sevenswells: (In ur lj reading ur slashfic (Sherlock))

Hello Gleeks of my f-list, it's that time of the year where I ask for Puck/Kurt fic recs again. Do you have any for me? Gimme gimme pleaaaaase!

As for the Sherlockians of my f-list, I wanted to ask: has anyone read this book:

And is it any good? I started reading the beginning at the bookshop and saw that Watson was married (okay) and had at least a child with Mary Morstan (wait, what?) which put me off a bit and made me replace it on the bookshelf. But the thing is, I usually like Anthony Horowitz's books and since I'll be travelling soon, I need something to read on the plane; I'm just kind of reluctant to read something that would kill any hope of slash between Holmes and Watson (don't judge me, I'm a hopeless fangirl)...

tl;dr I need a fellow fangirl/boy's opinion on this plz.

For what it's worth, I have heard [good things (http://www.guardian.co.uk/books/2011/oct/27/house-silk-anthony-horowitz-sherlock-holmes)] about it. (Who knows whether the reviewer had some stake in it or not, though!)

The review makes it sound nice indeed, my only problem is that it doesn't answer what interests me the most: are Holmes and Watson still slashable in it, as they are in canon? The "three children" bit makes me a bit scared. I'm still torn. :/

It is a nice cover indeed. BUT THE SLASH? THE SLASH IS ALSO VERY IMPORTANT. I want my slashy undertones! My OTP! I want the longing and the UST and the bromance and watchamaycallit, and I wanna know if it's in there! Otherwise... well, it wouldn't be the end of the world, but I'm pretty sure a story where Watson and Sherlock aren't the absolute most important person in each other's life would make me sad, no matter how good it is (or how good the cover looks XD).

If you get to read it, will you let me know plz?

I just read the front bit of the preview ebook and I'm already all AJGHJDHGHJFHJ. I haven't got to the part where children are mentioned but Watson reminisching fondly about how he came to meet Holmes and have crazy adventures is enough for my fangirl heart :)

Ok I'm gonna read on now

Okay I don't know what you read but this here is proof you have nothing to worry about dear.

I realised that I had lost not just my closest companion and friend but, in many ways, the very reason for my existence. Two marriages, three children, seven grandchildren, a successful career in medicine and the order of Merit......might be considered achievement enough for anyone. But not for me. I miss him to this day and sometimes, in my waking moments I fancy I hear them still, those familiar words: 'The game's afoot, Watson!

Never heard of it, tbh — how would he deal with the child after The Empty House, I wonder? does he die as well as Mary? that sounds a bit dreary.

Also: would you be interested in another Sherlock meetup? There's a post up in [livejournal.com profile] sherlock_meetup here, and I'll be advertising it around when the DDoS attacks quiet down a bit, but I thought I'd let you know. :D

ANTHONY HOROWITZ KILLS ALL THE FICTIONAL CHILDREN. D: I do think there was canon-fanfic in which Watson and Mary had a kid, and then Holmes died, and then Mary died, and Watson was left all alone to take care of the child, and called him Sherlock, and then Holmes came back and they had to deal with all that? it was very tragic.

LOLOL Jo is so efficient. I'm just sitting there cursing LJ for the DDoS and waiting 'till I can actually post the time thing on the comms.
