Look, I understand and accept the closing down of Megaupload. It's only fair and it was expected too, it couldn't go on forever like this, what with piracy being illegal and such; it was good while it lasted and life goes on.

But.

I've watched the first episode of Downton Abbey a few days ago before all the other sites went to hell too, and I can't watch the rest before I come back to Paris mid-February where I will most certainly buy the DVDs, and in the mean time
I'M BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORED!

*pouts*

By the way, I've opened an AO3 account (with the help of the adorable [livejournal.com profile] jainas and Shakeskp, thank you darlings!) where I've started uploading my crap just to put some order in all that stuff and keep it in one place instead of scattered all over this mess of a journal. Yeah I'm THAT bored.

Still trying to put together my next rec post, but it's a mess too, it might take longer than expected.

In France, we call bachelorette parties "enterrement de vie de jeune fille", which literally means, "maiden's life burial".
I was part of the organization for a friend's, and so we spent the afternoon at the Père Lachaise cemetery to bury her symbolically (amongst many other things, boy that day was a very busy day)
In this picture I am Death incarnate, the "maiden" sitting on the bench is (was) the bachelorette in question.

10 second footage from the new Sherlock series and the whole fandom has gone batshit crazy on Tumblr and gif'd/cap'd/analyzed/flailed over absolutely everything in the ten minutes that followed the teaser's release; as some infamous bloggers said, when the actual series will start, we probably won't survive. 2012, guys. The Mayans predicted this. Ovaries exploding all over the globe. We're fucked.

Here is the whole BBC trailer for their new programs, including the Sherlock bits: http://www.spoilertv.com/2011/08/uk-promo-featuring-new-sherlock-footage.html

And here's the Sherlock footage extracted from the trailer:

So [livejournal.com profile] pollums , bless her, created this fantastic meme, and I don't have as much vision as her nor have I reflected much on the subject, but I figured it was a good way to get started at any rate.

WARNING: IMAGE HEAVY, COMPLETELY NOT SAFE FOR WORK, PENISES (and even boobs) AND PORN EVERYWHERE

Get under the cut at your own risk )

Aaaaaah that was fun. Thanks, Polly!
sevenswells: (THE APPROPRIATENESS (Sherlock))
Something I've been wanting to do for the longest time, ever since I saw this '09 Sherlock Holmes movie/My Neighbour Totoro crossover. So I was obsessed with this idea of a Sherlock/Howl's Moving Castle crossover, and then I read [livejournal.com profile] parachute_silks  's fic, Sherlock's Moving Castle, which is SO SO AMAZING AND PERFECT. I think "enchanting" is the right adjective here. And so I decided to do a fanart. Basically nothing's mine, it's a copy of Hayao Miyazaki's stuff with a few tweaks here and there, I only did it for the lulz (and the appropriateness of such a crossover, of course). The background comes from this image which I also used as a reference.

The pic is kind of big so if you want to make a wallpaper out of it, go ahead.

Fandoms: BBC Sherlock/Studio Ghibli's Howl's Moving Castle, rating: G, no warnings in particular.

I've got a whole pile of 'em comic strips for you. As promised, there's the next parts of Sherlock and John's Amazing Meta Adventures, and another Mofftiss strip at the end of the post.
Thank you very much for your comments on the previous strips, you're all adorable -- answering you as soon as I can!!

By the way, somebody suggested that the FunFun Scriptwriting strip should be posted on Mark Gatiss's Twitter, and I'm not against the idea, but I don't have a Twitter account, and I'd rather not have links on Twitter that link back to this journal. So, I've created a TumblR account where I'll post my stuff -- the comic strips, but also my Sherlock fanarts. The Tumblr will be some kind of archive, just to keep my stuff in one place. So anyway, if someone who does have a Twitter account wants to post those strips on Gatiss's Twitter, go right ahead I'm all for it, just please use the Tumblr links.

Here's the address of the Tumblr: http://sevenswells.tumblr.com/

Fandom: BBC Sherlock, rating: PG-13 cuz language, Safe For Work, made by moi.
Comments: the "Does he look straight to you?" line is a reference to [livejournal.com profile] littlenotebook 's hilarious post, "A Study In Pink in fifteen minutes"
The Sherlocktopus strip is dedicated to [livejournal.com profile] jbs_teeth  since she/he was the one who suggested the idea!

Bunch of stuff under the cut )

Meme stolen from [livejournal.com profile] goldylost :

I approves of this result. Although I have doubts about my "organizational skills" (*turns around to look at own room* *bursts laughing nervously*), I do think McGonagall is the coolest character in Harry Potter (in the "official" version of this test, like, IRL, I'm supposed to be ENFP though. Mmmh. This sounds a bit like a horoscope, doesn't it?)
And while I'm here, two vids that make life worth living:
This one made me laugh so hard I think I don't have intestines anymore -- they've decided to go live somewhere quieter (BBC Sherlock):

And this one was made by [livejournal.com profile] disastrolabe  (link will direct you to the post on her journal), mixing V for Vendetta and Taio Cruz's "Dynamite", it's FUCKING AWESOME:
