That was good. That was really good. It's been a very, very long time since I've enjoyed an action movie so much; minutely directed, with incredibly fluid choreographies and an awesome soundtrack, and the inventivity of the fight scenes reminded me of the best HK movies, vintage Jackie Chan particularly. Nobody gets action movies right nowadays (fucking shaking camera, I hate you so fucking much), and now Indonesia (and a Welsh director, apparently) has just stepped in to show the rest of the world how it's done. The whole room broke into applause at the end of an especially spectacular fight scene; it's the first time I've felt people around me in a cinema so exhilarated with pure adrenaline. Exquisite tension and brilliant atmosphere throughout the whole film, charismatic and badass cast, I loved it. If you like action movies like I do, go see it.
Also, this guy?

Yayan Ruhian. 160 centimetres of sheer undiluted awesomeness. I revere you, sir.

STRAIGHT UP AGREED. i think this is kind of like one of the top Muay Thai movies ive ever seen SO GOOD and even the story while being simple was still kind unique, good characters too!

I thought it was Muay Thai too at first but apparently it's an Indonesian martial art called "silat"; it's really great of Gareth Evans to have chosen to bring it forward, because I didn't even know Indonesia had their own martial art!
But yeah, god, awesome movie, and you're right, the story is indeed a bit unique! So refreshing!
